06-05-2022 – Day of Injury

On 6-4-2022, I was injured on the job with a crushed thumb.
I sustained the injury while using a faulty trailer door that management was aware of, but failed to replace or repair.
The next day, I called the Palestine Tx DC to inform them about my injury and the difficulty I was having driving.
I explained the situation to the person who answered the phone, but they seemed more concerned about the delivery schedule than my well-being.
However, they instructed me to deliver the load to Sanger Tx instead of prioritizing my safety.
This decision put me and others on the road in danger, as I was not able to drive safely and could have caused an accident.
Ideally, I should have parked the truck and load as driving with my injury was not safe.
However, as an employee, I felt pressured to follow their instructions and complete the job even at the expense of my health.
After delivering the load, I was sent back to Palestine Tx despite my condition.
It was only after persistent complaints that Walmart took action and provided the necessary medical attention.
Walmart eventually sent me to the emergency room on 6-5-2022.
I was shocked and disappointed at the lack of urgency and concern Walmart showed for my injury and recovery.
Despite the seriousness of the injury, Walmart scheduled my next doctor appointment for 6-13-22.
This delay in treatment not only caused me additional pain and suffering but also led to a longer recovery time and potential complications.
I was instructed to see a Doctor within 2-3 days by the emergency room..
I urge Walmart and other companies to prioritize the safety and well-being of their employees over profit and efficiency.
